- Mobile-first layout strategies that scale up intelligently
- Flexible grid systems and fluid typography techniques
- Media queries and breakpoint management
- Touch-friendly navigation and interaction patterns
- Image optimization for different screen densities
- Performance testing across actual devices
How The Program Works
Sixteen weeks of focused learning, starting with fundamentals and progressing through increasingly complex responsive challenges. Classes run Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with weekend lab sessions available.
Foundation Phase
Weeks 1-4 cover viewport concepts, flexible layouts, and basic media queries. You'll rebuild existing fixed-width sites to be responsive, learning to spot and fix common mobile issues.
Intermediate Development
Weeks 5-10 introduce advanced CSS techniques, component-based thinking, and responsive patterns. You'll work with actual client briefs to build small business websites from scratch.
Advanced Application
Weeks 11-14 focus on performance optimization, accessibility standards, and testing methodologies. Your projects need to pass real-world device testing on at least six different screen sizes.
Portfolio Development
Final two weeks are dedicated to completing your capstone project and building your portfolio site. You'll present your work to local web agencies and receive detailed feedback.
